Teach Yourself To Meditate: 10 Simple Steps

  1. Find a quiet place to sit
  2. Sit comfortably (chair, floor, cushion, anywhere that suits your physiology)
  3. Turn your phone to airplane mode
  4. Set you phone’s timer to 3 minutes (that is 180 seconds…you have the rest of the day to worry)
  5. Close your eyes
  6. Take three slow, deep breaths (a 3 count on the inhale and a 3 count on the exhale works)
  7. Settle into a comfortable position
  8. Feel the sensation of gravity
  9. Steady your breathing
  10. Challenge yourself to not move until the timer sounds
